Landfall Trust of Brigus
Newfoundland and Labrador

The Landfall Trust is a registered charity established in 2005 through the legacy of the late Bradley Jacob Folensbee, Jr. (Jake).

The Trust oversees the undeveloped 11-acre Landfall preserve, a provincial heritage site with its 200-year old Kent Cottage, in the coastal community of Brigus, Newfoundland and Labrador, Jake’s seasonal residence for 51 years.

A lifetime educator and amateur artist, Jake’s passing wish was
that Landfall be a centre of lifelong learning opportunities for people and organizations to practice the arts and humanities recognizing and benefiting Newfoundland’s unique heritage.

The Landfall Trust’s Mission is to preserve the historic Kent Cottage, protect Landfall’s pristine natural environment and provide arts, cultural and educational activities.

The Trust provides seasonal Artists and Writers-in-Residence programs, conducts resident artist directed workshops and special events.

The Board of Directors serves on a volunteer basis and is supported by an Advisory Council.  They represent diverse skills and talents, including heritage preservation, the visual and literary arts, the surrounding community and its history, finance and fund development, and facilities conservation and management.  All have an association with the community of Brigus and share Jake's vision.

The Trust is supported by its members, donations and the Landfall Press sale of resident artist fine-art prints. When not in use for its cultural and heritage activities, the cottage is rented as a pristine and historic weekly vacation retreat.

Please enjoy your visit to our website. Thank you for your interest in the Landfall Trust and its support of and contributions to the arts, education, cultural heritage and conservation of Landfall's historic Kent Cottage.

Kindest regards,

The Board of Directors
